HHere on Holodeck 3, we have decided to start ranking episodes overall as part of our reviews. A lot of thought has been put into what sort of scale we should use, modern S-A-B-C-D rankings? Grade School grades (if so, from what country)?
We admit, it took us way too long to realize the obvious, let's give them starfleet ranks. So here is our rating system.
The following table shows available episode ranks and their descriptions, arranged along side the corresponding S-A-B-C-D grade of modern rank lists.
With the exception of the S-Tier, we've broken each tier into two ranks. This both allows us more granularity in our rankings, and also allows us to use all of the traditional Starfleet officer ranks.
We've also changed the colors of the tiers from the more common colors on ranked lists to match the colors of various TNG era uniforms. Light Grey for S-Tier indicating dress uniforms, Red for A-Tier indicating command uniforms, Gold for B-Tier indicating engineering/ops uniforms, Blue for C-Tier indicating science uniforms, and Dark Grey for D-Tier indicating civilian and cadet uniforms.

Note that within each section the episodes are listed by date, so within a ranking the order does not indicate which episodes we considered best within that ranking. This table and the above count are automatically updated as episodes are ranked.
